Understanding San Antonio’s Water
You hear all the time that San Antonio and the Hill Country has some of the hardest water in the country. We talk about it often here at Kinetico San Antonio. And it’s often cited as the main reason why San Antonio water softeners are so important.
But do you know exactly why our area has such hard water?
The answer actually lies beneath us. Our water is hard because of the limestone in the Edwards Aquifer, which is our water source. In fact, the San Antonio Water System says hardness can even vary from one well to the next depending on porosity and density of the limestone below.
