Hey, you! Yeah, you behind the desk. Are visions of white sands, palm trees and warm skin dancing in your head? It’s about time, too! Summer is just around the corner. The warmer weather has everyone reaching for flip flops, swim suits and everyone’s favorite hair style – beach waves. If you can’t make it to the coast this year, don’t worry! With our tips for perfect beach wave hair, no one will ever know you didn’t just come from an early morning surf session.
Almost everyone has a little wave in their hair; mastering the beach wave is just a matter of enhancing your natural waves. The number one way to do this is with a sea salt spray. You can buy a bottle or make your own with this recipe from Kinetico.
Kinetico Sea Salt Hair Mist:
- 8 or 10 oz Spray Bottle
- 8 oz of Pure Kinetico Water
- 1 1/2 tsp of finely ground sea salt
- 1 tsp of conditioner (try a coconut scented conditioner for an extra beachy touch!)
- Quarter-sized dollop of hair gel
Mix well and voila! You’ve got the beach in a bottle. The combination of pure Kinetico water and conditioner will combat the dryness that the sea salt creates. Depending on your hair type, you can use less or more mist. The more you use, the more textured your hair will appear.
By now you’re probably thinking…
“Okay, okay, so how should I apply it?”
Start by washing and combing your hair. When your hair is damp, mist it with sea salt and gently scrunch. You can either let it air dry for a straight from the beach finish, or blow dry with a diffuser for softer waves. For those looking for more structured-but-still-beachy style of wave, go ahead and dry your hair first. Using a curling iron or wand, create a large loose curls. Lightly mist your hair with the sea salt spray, run your fingers through the curls to separate them, and go!
