Places to Enjoy Water This Summer
June 2, 2016San Antonio Summer Fun
Summer is just around the corner and with school being out until August, parents are looking for ways to keep the kiddos entertained. With the blistering summers that Texans endure every year, the best way to beat the heat is too cool off in the water. Below, we’ve provided three places to enjoy water this summer. So, put on your shades, some sunscreen and enjoy.
Schlitterbahn
For those who haven’t already come across the name, Schlitterbahn is a pretty noteworthy waterpark. The park theme is inspired by German settlers that founded New Braunfels, and has a quaint cottage-y feel. The park has cabanas you can rent for parties, and offers lodging on the property as well for families that want a round-the-clock Schlitterbahn experience. With plenty of rides and attractions to keep the kids busy, Schiltterbahn is an excellent destination for an all-day fun fest!
Hamilton Pool
Up the road in Austin, Hamilton Pool is one of the most gorgeous swimming holes in the entire country. It can get busy during the summer – in fact, you’ll have to make reservations to enter the area until September. Take a dip, enjoy the waterfall and bask in the glow of Mother Nature’s beauty at Hamilton Pool.
The River Walk
Although I would absolutely NOT recommend swimming in the water, the River Walk is a beautiful, historical landmark to visit this summer. The river runs right through the middle of downtown San Antonio, and gives an interesting history on the city of San Antonio, and Texas in general. The River Walk is lined with all kinds of fun shops and restaurants. If you’re looking for a fun evening out, you can’t go wrong with the River Walk.
